Darien Residents Encouraged To Sign Up For Renters Rebate Program

DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien Human Services Department announced that this year's Renters Rebate Program is ongoing and will end on Oct. 1.

The program is designed to help seniors and totally disabled Darien residents with residency costs.

Applicants for the program must be at least one year as a resident in the state, at age of 65 as of Dec. 31, 2014, or currently receiving Social Security Disability.

Income limits are $34,600 for single residents or $42,200 for married couples.

The state requires all income be documented, including Social Security, pensions, interest tied to bank accounts, dividends and wages.
